211 - INFORMATION AND REFERENCES
 
For non-emergency services
The 211 service is set up to respond to the needs of the communities.  Anyone can dial 211 at any time to ask for counselling, information or referral on a full range of non-emergency community, social, government and health services.
 

311 - CITY OF OTTAWA - Call Centre
 

The City of Ottawa launched this service to provide residents with answers on everything from recreation and marriage licenses to recycling and parking.

Legal Aid Ontario gives low-income people access to a range of legal services tailored to meet their legal needs.

ONTARIO WORKS
 
Ontario Works provides income and employment assistance for people in temporary financial need. People receiving financial assistance through the Ontario Works program have a a responsibility to participate in a wide range of employment assistance activities, which help them prepare for, find and keep a job. To start the application process, call the Application Screening Unit (ASU) at 613-560-6000.
