Orleans Carpet- The Biggest Loser

orleanscarpet_enOver the past two months, the team at Orleans Carpet has been holding an inter-office contest to see who is “the Biggest Loser”. Contestants paid $10 dollars to enter, with the winner (the person who lost the most weight) getting the prize money. In addition, the owners of Orleans Carpet, Sylvain and Raymond Brazeau, donated $5 to the OCCRC for every pound lost.

In total, the team lost 103 pounds, resulting in a $515 donation to the Centre. In addition, the winner, Marc Prieur, who lost 16 pounds, donated his winnings to the Centre as well.

We would like to thank Marc, Sylvain, Raymond, Pam, and everyone at Orleans Carpet for their generous donation of $725, and thank them for all of their hard work and dedication to not only get fit and healthy, but also for helping the people of Orléans-Cumberland in the process.

The Works was able to raise $500.00 for the Centre!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Kristin (Queen La-Beefa) and Andy (Chief Burgerhead) for all of their support in running this event, and making it a true success.  The OCCRC thanks The Works for their generous donation.

Navan's Quest for Hockeyville 2011

Congratulations to the very hard working team from Navan who is busy promoting their beautiful town in their attempt to be 2011’s Kraft Hockeyville.

Navan is hosting many different events over the next few months to help highlight our community and the need for this title of Kraft’s Hockeyville 2011. On Sunday Dec. 5th, the team asked invited the community to come and enjoy a public skate and instead of paying for this fun family day- they public was asked to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Orléans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre’s Emergency Food Program. They were able to collect over 10 boxes of food along with a number of GREAT Kraft products! On behalf of our board of directors and the staff of the OCCRC we wish all those involved and the Navan Arena the best of luck in their quest! (Please go to their Facebook page for a list of dates of events http://tl-ph.facebook.com/group.php?gid=105251069538569 and visit http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/hockeyville/community/2565/en/index.shtml today to tell your story and nominate this very deserving town.)
