Congratulations to the very hard working team from Navan who is busy promoting their beautiful town in their attempt to be 2011’s Kraft Hockeyville.Navan is hosting many different events over the next few months to help highlight our community and the need for this title of Kraft’s Hockeyville 2011. On Sunday Dec. 5th, the team asked invited the community to come and enjoy a public skate and instead of paying for this fun family day- they public was asked to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Orléans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre’s Emergency Food Program. They were able to collect over 10 boxes of food along with a number of GREAT Kraft products! On behalf of our board of directors and the staff of the OCCRC we wish all those involved and the Navan Arena the best of luck in their quest! (Please go to their Facebook page for a list of dates of events http://tl-ph.facebook.com/group.php?gid=105251069538569 and visit http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/hockeyville/community/2565/en/index.shtml today to tell your story and nominate this very deserving town.)
A Big thank you to Paul St. Onge and his team. Although the weather was not with us and we had to cancel this year’s event, we would still like to thank the few who did come out and we look forward to watching this event becoming a must attend event next year for the Orléans community!!!
