Another option is to call the Child care providers resource network (CCPRN) at 613-749-5211 and ask for a list of private home daycares in your area. For more information contact us at 613-834-9620.
When can I return toys that I have borrowed from the toy lending library? If you are ONLY returning your item, you can do so within our business hours. To borrow items from the toy lending library, it must be done during the specific library hours (Jocelyne, could you link this on the website).

My child is having a hard time sitting through circle time, any tips? Circle time is a learning experience; children need repetition to grasp the concept of circle time routine. You can help your child by making the transition to circle easier. Letting your child know 3 minutes before cleanup that playtime is almost over. Help your child with the cleaning process, and quietly move to the circle time room. Sit on the floor with your child. Tell him what you expect from him/her during circle. (I expect that you will sit with your legs crossed.) Participate with your child, they learn by watching others. Don’t over react if your child stands up or walks around. Let him/her know what he/she should be doing. If your child screams, runs or is disruptive during the circle; simply take him/her outside the room until he/she calms down. Then try one more time. If your child does not cooperate, leave. Don’t be discourage, next drop-in will be better.
I have a newborn baby, what kind of services do you offer? On Mondays we offer a Well Baby Clinic for parents with newborns up to 3 months. The Well Baby Clinic is offered in partnership with the City of Ottawa. Public Health Nurses are on site to weigh your baby and answer your questions. You can also meet other new parents. The clinic runs on Mondays from 1:30 to 3:00pm.
Can I bring my child to a workshop? Most evening workshops are for adults only, unless otherwise indicated. We also offer adult-child workshops, please see our calendar for more details.
Can I attend the French drop-in even if I don’t speak the language? The structured activities in the French Drop-in will be held in French only. Families are encouraged to attend the Drop-in they fell more comfortable in.
My child is over 3 months where can I get my child weight? We do not have a scale here on site. You can make an appointment with your doctor to get your child weighed.
What do I need to bring to drop-in? Parents and caregivers are responsible for providing a nutritious snack. Please NO food with NUTS. The EYC provides apple juice for snack time and coffee for adults. During winter, everyone is expected to remove their boots as wet floors are slippery and dangerous. Parents and caregivers are responsible to bring indoor shoes for their children and other personal belongings that your child may need. Please do not bring toys from home, as they could get lost.

We also have a Specialized Playgroup, every Wednesday from 9:30-11:30 am in collaboration with the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre.
